Number Of Ingredients 10

1 package (1 pound) spaghetti
1/3 cup sesame oil
1/4 cup canola oil
1 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
1/4 cup reduced-sodium soy sauce
3 tablespoons honey
1-1/2 teaspoons kosher salt
1/2 cup dry roasted peanuts, chopped
1/4 cup minced fresh cilantro
2 tablespoons sesame seeds, toasted

Steps:

  • Cook spaghetti according to package directions. , Meanwhile, in a small saucepan over medium heat, heat the sesame oil, canola oil and pepper flakes until oil is fragrant. Remove from the heat. Stir in the soy sauce, honey and salt; set aside., Drain spaghetti and rinse in cold water; transfer to a large bowl. Add the peanuts, cilantro, sesame seeds and oil mixture; toss to coat. Chill until serving.

This recipe was given to me by a dear friends mother when I first got married. It has an excellent Asian flair because of the soy and sesame oil. It is a wonderful cold side dish, or a great light lunch. People always ask me to bring it to gatherings.

Number Of Ingredients 7

1 lb angel hair pasta
4 cups broccoli
2 cups carrots
1/2 cup olive oil
1/2 cup soy sauce
2 tablespoons sesame oil
1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice

Steps:

  • Cook pasta according to directions; drain well.
  • Place pasta in a bowl. Add all liquid ingredients.
  • Shred raw broccoli florets into tiny pieces. Shred Raw carrots.
  • Add all remaining ingredients into the pasta.
  • Toss thoroughly (careful, this can be messy).
  • Cover and refrigerate at least 2 hours (overnight is best) re-tossing occasionally.
