COOKED MILK FROSTING
Use this light, fluffy vanilla frosting to top our Confetti Cake.

Steps:
- In a small saucepan, whisk together flour and milk until smooth. Cook over medium-high heat, whisking constantly, until mixture becomes thick and resembles pudding, 3 to 4 minutes. Transfer to a heat-proof bowl; stir in vanilla and salt. Press plastic wrap against surface; let cool completely.
- Beat butter with sugar on medium speed until light and fluffy, scraping down bowl as needed, about 2 minutes. Add milk mixture and continue beating until frosting is light and fluffy and resembles whipped cream, about 2 minutes more. Use immediately.
GRAMMIE BEA'S SPECIAL VANILLA FROSTING
This is absolutely "THE BEST" frosting in the world... It's an old fashioned recipe that my gram used for years on all her homemade cakes including Wacky, Spice, and her Raisin Cakes. It has been a favorite of my family for over 50 years, and will be passed down to my grandaughter(s), when and if I have some :) I lost this recipe at one point and was frantic, but found it again rummaging through my cookbooks... I was SO HAPPY!!! Try this one and see why... Enjoy!

Steps:
- In a bowl mix solid Crisco, salt, vanilla, and about 1/3 of the sugar.
- Add milk and remaining sugar alternately. Mix until smooth and creamy.
- Add more sugar to thicken, or milk to thin frosting, if needed, for a good spreading consistency.
- Frosts 2 8 or 9" layers OR 1 13x9x2" cake.

- Scald milk and sugar and let cool. Beat egg white til stiff and gradually add the cooled milk mixture. In another bowl, cream butter and Crisco til very creay. Gradeully add egg white ixture. Add vanilla, fold together and shill in refriger) ator (15-30 minutes Covera a 9x13 inch sheet cake or filla dn frosts a two layer cake.
SCALDED MILK ICING
An icing for those who don't like sicky sweet frosting. My mother and Grandma only used this kind of frosting, though it's not good for decorating.

- Blend oleo, crisco and sugar until creamy and smooth, about 10min. if room temp.
- Mix in egg white with spoon.
- Last, mix in cooled milk and vanilla.Mix until smooth, about 1 min.
