CITRUS WHITE WINE SPRITZER

2 (1/4-inch) slices lemon
2 (1/4-inch) slices lime
Ice cubes
4 ounces Pinot Grigio or other white wine
2 ounces lemon lime flavored seltzer water

Steps:

  • In a large stem glass arrange slices of lemon and lime between ice cubes to fill the glass. Pour 4 ounces of white wine, 1/2 cup, and 2 ounces of sparkling lemon lime seltzer water, 1/4 cup, down over fruit and ice. Stir with cocktail stir-stick or straw and serve.

1/4 cup water
1/4 cup agave nectar
1 grapefruit, juiced
2 navel oranges, juiced
2 lemons, juiced
4 mandarins or clementines, juiced
3 cups sparkling water, chilled
Orange or mandarin slices, for garnish

Steps:

  • For the simple syrup: In a small saucepan, bring the water and agave to a boil over medium-high heat. Remove the pan from the heat and let cool.
  • Combine the citrus juices and sparkling water in a pitcher. Add the simple syrup and mix well. Pour into ice-filled glasses and garnish with orange slices.

Enjoy the essence of summer in a glass with cubes left over from fruit salad and a simple syrup made from sugar and water.

Number Of Ingredients 5

1/2 cup sugar
Fresh seasonal fruit, such as 8 cups cubed seedless watermelon, 6 cups cubed honeydew melon, 6 cups cubed cantaloupe, 6 cups cubed mango, or 4 1/4 cups raspberries
1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice
Pinch of coarse salt
Sparkling water, or club soda

Steps:

  • Put sugar and 1 cup water into a medium saucepan; bring to a simmer over medium heat, stirring to dissolve sugar. Remove from heat; let cool slightly.
  • Puree fruit, syrup, lemon juice, and salt in a blender. Pour through a fine sieve into a bowl. Refrigerate until cold, at least 30 minutes (up to 2 days).
  • To serve, fill 8 medium glasses with ice; pour 1/2 cup puree into each glass, and top off with sparkling water. Stir to combine. Serve immediately.

This refreshing blend of lemon, lime, and orange juices can be made with or without vodka.

2 cups fresh orange juice (from 6 oranges), strained
1/2 cup fresh lemon juice (from 2 to 3 lemons), strained
1/4 cup fresh lime juice (from 2 limes), strained
2/3 cup superfine sugar
4 cups seltzer or club soda
1 ounce vodka per serving (optional)
Orange, lemon, or lime slices, for garnish (optional)

Steps:

  • In a large pitcher, combine juices and sugar; stir well to dissolve sugar. When ready to serve, add seltzer; stir gently to combine. Serve over crushed ice; add vodka (if using), and garnish with citrus slices, if desired.
