This recipe is a combination of hamburger, corn, noodles, soups, and seasonings. My mom made it all the time during the week.

8 -10 ounces elbow macaroni
2 lbs ground beef
1 medium onion, chopped
1 (16 ounce) bag frozen corn
1 (10 1/2 ounce) can cream of mushroom soup
1 (10 1/2 ounce) can cream of celery soup
1 (10 1/2 ounce) can tomato soup
1/2 cup milk
2 (4 ounce) cans mushrooms
2 teaspoons Mrs. Dash seasoning mix
2 teaspoons seasoning salt
2 garlic cloves

Steps:

  • Brown the meat with the chopped onion. Drain.
  • Mix together the soups and milk. Add the mushrooms, meat mixture, corn, garlic, and seasonings to the soup mixture.
  • Mix in the macaroni. Heat through and serve.

Russian Macaroni and Cheese Recipe - (4/5) image

1/2 pound macaroni or other small pasta (I used whole-wheat Penne)
2 Tbs butter
2 cups chopped onion
2 cloves garlic, minced
1/2 lb sliced mushrooms
4 cups shredded cabbage
1 tsp salt
1 tsp caraway seeds
1 10 oz bag fresh baby spinach
2 cups cottage cheese
1/2 cup buttermilk
2 Tbs fresh dill, finely minced
2 cups packed, grated cheddar
Handful of sunflower seeds

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 and grease a 9x13 baking pan. Cook the pasta until tender and drain. Melt butter in a deep skillet (this is going to need to be deeper than you think it is. AT LEAST 2 or 3 inches deep), and saute onions for 5 minutes. Add garlic, mushrooms, cabbage, salt, and caraway seeds. Cover and cook 10 minutes, or until cabbage is tender. Stir in spinach, remove from heat, and add to pasta. Mix in cottage cheese, buttermilk, dill, black pepper and half the cheddar. Spread in prepared pan, sprinkle with remaining cheddar and sunflower seeds. Bake uncovered for 20-30 minutes.

This is Russian dish that was developed many years ago during the times when money was very scarce. I modified this recipe almost 50 years ago and it is a very easy to make and tasty dish.

5 packages ramen noodles, do not use the spices
3 cups water, for cooking noodles
8 large eggs, beaten
1/4 cup whipping cream or 1/4 cup half-and-half cream
2 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon granulated sugar

Steps:

  • In a large saucepan, add noodles and 3 cups of water.
  • Bring to a boil and cook for about 3 minutes.
  • Drain well and set aside.
  • Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.
  • Prepare a 8" x 8" oven-proof casserole dish by rubbing inside with a vegetable oil or margarine.
  • In a mixing bowl, mix together eggs, whipping cream, baking powder, salt and sugar.
  • Add noodles and stir to mix well.
  • Pour noodle mixture into prepared casserole dish.
  • Bake in preheated 400 F oven for 25 to 30 minutes or until top is golden brown.
  • Serve with melted margarine or butter.
  • You can eat the Lapshevnik cold as it is good as a quick snack.
