Cream Cheese Sausage Rotel Wonton Cups, crispy wonton cups are filled with a spicy sausage mixture for an easy appetizer.

Number Of Ingredients 4

1 pound sausage
8 ounces cream cheese (cubed for easier melting)
10- ounce can diced tomatoes with green chiles
1 package wonton cups

Steps:

  • Brown sausage and drain excess grease. Add diced tomatoes and cream cheese. Stir until heated through and cream cheese is melted.
  • Spray muffin pan with non-stick spray and press one wonton wrapper into pan forming cups. Heat oven to 350 degrees F.
  • Allow sausage mixture to cool slightly. Fill each wonton cup with 1-2 tablespoons of the sausage mixture.
  • Cook at 350 12 to 13 minutes or until hot and bubbly.
  • Serve warm or at room temperature. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator.

Make sure you use the CUPS, not the dough. It makes all the difference. Also, don't worry about the mayo if you don't like it. You cannot taste it. I made two huge trays of these and they were scarfed down pretty fast.

1 can(s) rotel, mostly drained (we use mild)
1 pkg real bacon bits
1 1/2 c colby jack cheese (shredded)
1 c mayonnaise

Steps:

  • 1. In a large bowl, mix together almost fully drained Rotel, bacon bits, and mayo until blended.
  • 2. Add in the cheese and stir until mixed. Fill the shells, making sure not to put too much into each one or there won't be enough.
  • 3. Place on cookie sheet and bake in oven for 15-20 minutes at 350 until bubbly and golden. Remove to rack or plate. Serve warm.

10 oz. can Rotel, drained
1 cup mayonnaise
1/2 cup real bacon bits (or cooked and crumbled bacon)
1 cup shredded cheese
3 packages mini phyllo shells

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Line a mini muffin pan with the phyllo cups. Combine all other ingredients, mix well, and spoon the mixture into the shells. Bake for 10 to 15 minutes, until shells are golden and cheese is melted. These are wonderful fresh from the oven, but they're also great at room temperature.
  • NOTES
  • You'll find phyllo cups in the freezer section of the grocery store.
  • If you're making these for a crowd, consider doubling the recipe; they'll go quickly!
