olive oil cooking spray
¾ pound fresh green beans, trimmed
sea salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
1 pinch garlic powder, or to taste
3 tablespoons shredded Parmesan cheese, or more to taste

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C). Coat a baking dish with cooking spray.
  • Place trimmed green beans into the prepared baking dish. Season with sea salt, pepper, and garlic powder; toss to coat. Sprinkle Parmesan cheese on top.
  • Roast in the preheated oven until cheese melts and forms a crisp shell over beans, about 10 minutes. Serve immediately.

1 pound thin green beans (haricots verts)
Extra-virgin olive oil
Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper
1 cup grated Parmigiano-Reggiano

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F.
  • Trim off the tough end of the beans and arrange the beans on a nonstick cookie sheet. Drizzle with olive oil season with salt and pepper, to taste. Sprinkle the cheese evenly over the top and bake until the cheese melts and forms a crisp shell over the beans, about 10 minutes. Let the beans sit a few minutes for the cheese to cool slightly. Lift the beans out onto a platter and serve.

This is a fast, easy and absolutely delicious way to make green beans. Saw it on the Food Network a while ago and it comes out perfect every time. Adjust cooking time and amount of cheese based on your personal preferences. After you've tried green beans, do the same exact recipe with asparagus or broccoli. My kids devour all 3 veggies so I always make more than we need and there aren't ever any leftovers.

3 -4 cups fresh green beans, stem ends snapped off
1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
1 -2 cup shredded parmesan cheese (I usually use 2 cups)
salt and pepper

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 425 degrees.
  • Spread beans out evenly on a non-stick cookie sheet, doesn't have to be a single layer.
  • Drizzle lightly with extra virgin olive oil.
  • Sprinkle lightly with salt & pepper (optional).
  • Spread shredded parmesan evenly over beans.
  • Bake on center oven rack for 12 minutes.
  • Beans will be roasted and cheese will be melted, chewy and crunchy where it laid on the pan.

12 ounces green beans, trimmed (make sure they are dry)
2 teaspoons olive oil
kosher salt
cracked pepper
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon paprika
1 1/2 tablespoons grated parmesan cheese

Steps:

  • Preheat your oven to 425°F Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil or parchment paper. Trim the ends off of your green beans, and spread them out evenly on the baking sheet.
  • Grab your olive oil and your drizzle it over the green beans. Shake the pan a couple of times to rotate the green beans to cover them fairly evenly. Add the salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika, and shake again to cover them evenly.
  • Pop them in the oven for 10 minutes, shake the pan again to flip them over, and put them back in for another 5 minutes.
  • After removing them from the oven, grate your Parmesan cheese over the top and serve!

1 lb fresh green beans, rinsed well, ends trimmed
1 small head garlic
1/4 cup + 1 Tbsp extra-virgin olive oil, divided
1 Tbsp finely grated lemon zest, or to taste, divided
1 Tbsp freshly squeezed lemon juice or to taste
salt to taste
ground black pepper to taste
1/3 cup pine nuts
1/4 cup coarsely grated parmesan cheese
chopped purple basil to taste
chopped cilantro to taste

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 450°F.Put beans in large mixing bowl. Peel garlic and quarter each clove lengthwise. Add garlic to green beans. Toss together with 1/4 cup of olive oil, 1 Tablespoon lemon zest, salt and pepper. Spread beans on a rimmed baking sheet and roast on the middle rack of the oven for 10 minutes. Give the beans a stir. Continue roasting until the beans and garlic pieces are lightly browned and tender throughout, 10 to 15 minutes longer. Meanwhile, toast the pine nuts in a small pan. Heat the pan and toast them dry over low heat, stirring constantly until they begin to brown lightly and give off that toasted nut scent. Transfer the beans to a small serving platter or shallow bowl; add lemon juice and the remaining 1 Tablespoon olive oil. Toss gently to coat and season to taste with additional salt and pepper. Sprinkle on the toasted pine nuts, lemon zest to taste, the Parmesan, and the chopped herbs. Serve hot or at room temperature.
