- in a ceramic container for top and bottom and top microwave on 50% for 3 minutes check for doneness with fork and microwave 50% for another 3 minutes. It should be soft and can be used in dishes calling for Roasted Garlic. If you have an extra 10 to 15 minutes, an you can roast the garlic at high heat to help it get some of that traditional roasted garlic flavor.

Steps:
- Cut tips off whole garlic heads, keeping heads intact.
- Place all ingredients in a 4 cup glass measure.
- Cover tightly with microwave plastic wrap.
- Cook at 100% for 6 to 8 minutes, longer if bulbs are large.
- Remove from oven.
- Let stand, covered, for 10 minutes.
- Peel when cooled.
- Refrigerate any leftovers.

- Heat the oven to 180C/160C fan/gas 4. Cut the top off the garlic bulb, exposing the tops of the garlic cloves. Put on a small square of foil, and rub with the olive oil. Season with salt and pepper. Scrunch up the foil to seal in the bulb.
- Roast for 25-30 mins until soft when pressed, and the papery casing is light golden. Leave to cool for a few minutes before squeezing the soft roasted garlic out of their shells. Alternatively, take off all the papery casing and remove the cloves individually.
