2 cups Bisquick baking mix
1 3/4 cups finely-shredded cheddar cheese
2/3 cup milk
2 tablespoons butter, melted, divided
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon fine parsley flakes
1/3 cup crabmeat (fresh or canned lump)

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 450 degrees.
  • Combine baking mix, 1 cup of the cheddar cheese, milk, and 1 half of the melted butter in a medium bowl.
  • Mix by hand until well-combined.
  • Pat out the dough into circle approximately 8 inches in diameter, with a slight lip around the edge, like a pizza crust.
  • Sprinkle the parsley over the top of the dough.
  • Be sure the dried parsley flakes are crushed fine. You can easily crush the flakes in a small bowl with your thumb and forefinger.
  • Sprinkle the crab over the top of the dough.
  • Sprinkle the remaining cheese over the crab.
  • Don't go all of the way to the edge of the dough -- leave a margin of a half-inch or so around the edge.
  • Bake for 14 to 16 minutes or until the cheese on top begins to slightly brown.
  • Combine the remaining butter with the garlic powder and brush it over the top of the bake as soon as it comes out of the oven.
  • Slice it like a pizza into 8 pieces and serve hot.

INGREDIENTS:
2 Tbsp butter (divided and melted)
½ tsp parsley flakes
¼ tsp garlic powder
2 c of Bisquick baking mix
1 and ¾ c cheddar cheese (finely shredded)
2/3 c milk
1/3 c fresh or canned lump crab meat

Steps:

  • PROCEDURE::
  • Prepare the oven by preheating it to 450 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • In a medium-size bowl, mix a cup of cheddar cheese, baking mix, half of the melted butter and milk. Combine the ingredients using your hand until combined thoroughly.
  • Make a circle from the dough, about 8-inch in diameter. The edge should have a slight lip in it just like pizza crust.
  • Drizzle the parsley flakes on top of the dough. Make sure that the parsley flakes are finely crushed. You can easily do this using your forefinger and thumb.
  • Drizzle the crab on top of the dough.
  • On top of the crab, sprinkle the rest of the cheese. Make sure not to go all the way to the dough's edge and just leave a half-inch margin or so on the edge's surrounding.
  • Bake it in the preheated oven for about 14 to 16 minutes, or just wait until the cheese starts to brown.
  • Mix the rest of the butter with the garlic powder. Brush this mixture on top of the bake right after you remove it from the oven. Slice the cake into 8 pieces, like a pizza slice. Serve while hot.
