5 cups torn red leaf lettuce
5 cups torn iceberg lettuce
3 cups torn Boston lettuce
2 cans (11 ounces each) mandarin oranges, well drained
3/4 cup chopped green pepper
1 celery rib, thinly sliced
1/4 cup chopped red onion
HONEY LIME DRESSING:
1/4 cup canola oil
1/4 cup honey
1/2 teaspoon ground mustard
1/2 teaspoon grated lime zest
1/4 teaspoon paprika
1/8 teaspoon salt
Dash white pepper
1 cup honey-roasted cashews

Steps:

  • In a large salad bowl, combine the lettuces, oranges, green pepper, celery and onion. , In a small bowl, combine oil, honey, mustard, lime zest, paprika, salt and pepper. Drizzle over salad. Add cashews; toss to coat.

1 head romaine lettuce - rinsed, dried and chopped
2 (11 ounce) cans mandarin oranges, drained
6 green onions, thinly sliced
2 tablespoons white sugar
½ cup sliced almonds
¼ cup red wine vinegar
½ cup olive oil
1 tablespoon white sugar
⅛ teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
ground black pepper to taste

Steps:

  • In a large bowl, combine the romaine lettuce, oranges and green onions.
  • Heat 2 tablespoons sugar with the almonds in saucepan over medium heat. Cook and stir while sugar starts to melt and coat almonds. Stir constantly until almonds are light brown. Turn onto a plate, and cool for 10 minutes.
  • Combine red wine vinegar, olive oil, one tablespoon sugar, red pepper flakes and black pepper in a jar with a tight fitting lid. Shake vigorously until sugar is dissolved.
  • Before serving, toss lettuce with salad dressing until coated. Transfer to a decorative serving bowl, and sprinkle with sugared almonds.

I love salads and can never have enough recipes for a good and easy salad!! Mix dressing together in any large jar and keep in fridge.

1 bunch red leaf lettuce, washed and drained
2 avocados, sliced
21 ounces mandarin oranges, drained
1 red onion, sliced
1 seedless cucumber, peeled and sliced
1 cup vegetable oil
1/3 cup sugar
1/3 cup cider vinegar
1 1/2 tablespoons poppy seeds
1 tablespoon minced red onion
1 teaspoon dry mustard

Steps:

  • Mix dressing all together in old mayo jar or whatever you have and shake, shake, shake.Can be kept in fridage for about a week or so.
  • Hand chop lettuce and put in large bowl.
  • add all other ingredients and mix gently.
  • pour dressing over top, little at a time as you will not need all of the dressing.
  • Mix gently and enjoy !

½ cup vegetable oil
¼ cup cider vinegar
¼ cup white sugar
2 teaspoons dried parsley
1 teaspoon salt
1 pinch ground black pepper
½ cup sliced almonds
¼ cup white sugar
1 head red leaf lettuce - rinsed, dried and torn
1 red onion, chopped
1 cup chopped celery
2 (11 ounce) cans mandarin orange segments, drained

Steps:

  • In a jar with a tight fitting lid, combine the oil, vinegar, sugar, parsley, salt and pepper. Cover and shake well. Refrigerate until use.
  • In a medium saucepan over medium low heat, cook and stir the almonds and sugar until the sugar is melted and the almonds are coated. Remove from heat, cool, and break apart. Store at room temperature until ready to serve salad.
  • In a large bowl, toss together the lettuce, celery, oranges, almonds and dressing until evenly coated.

1/2 cup chopped red onions
1 tablespoon orange marmalade
2 tablespoons red wine vinegar
1/3 cup extra-virgin olive oil, eyeball the amount

Steps:

  • Arrange spinach leaves on a large platter or individual salad plates. Top with mandarin sections and chopped red onion. Whisk together marmalade and vinegar. Stream oil into dressing while continuing to whisk.
