Yo-Yo Cookies Reshaped for Halloween image

Time 45m

Number Of Ingredients 7

1 cup softened butter
1 cup brown sugar, (packed)
2 eggs
1/3 cup liquid honey
1 teaspoon vanilla
3 1/2 cups sifted all-purpose flour
2 teaspoon baking soda

Steps:

  • 1. In a mixer, blend butter, sugar, and eggs, together, thoroughly.
  • 2. Add honey and vanilla
  • 3. Add flour and soda and mix. Chill the dough for several hours or overnight.
  • 4. Roll into balls the size of walnuts. I use a one tablespoon scoop to assure uniformity.
  • 5. Place cookies on an ungreased cookie sheet and bake at 350 degrees F for 10 to 12 minutes. Touching the top of a cookie should leave almost no imprint when they are cooked. These cookies bake well on a Silpat.
  • 6. When slightly cooled, sandwich together with the jam of your choice.
  • 7. TIPS: To make the spiders, just add shoestring liquorice pieces between the layers. Stick eyes on with honey, or icing. To see my blog about Yo-Yo cookies go to http://www.getabiggerwagon.com/blog/posts/yoyo_cookies_reshaped_for_the_season.html
