Steps:
- Preparation Cut yams into similar size pieces and boil till yams are tender. Do not overcook as they could become mushy. After yams are drained and have cooled pull off skin. Mash several yams with a fork into a buttered oven safe dish to form the first layer covering the bottom of the pan. Next, sprinkle some of the pudding mixture over the yams, then dot evenly with thin slices of butter to complete this layer. Continue this process for approximately two more layers. Cook at 350 for about 20 -30 minutes.
