I like to find healthy alternatives to some of my favorite foods. I love fried/stewed apples and I found a wonderful way to still enjoy this delicious food, while trimming down calories and fat. Steps:
- 1. Place all ingredients in a medium sized sauce pan and cover with water. Bring to a boil; Reduce heat and simmer for about 15 minutes or until apples are tender.
- 2. Drain and serve over your favorite hot cereal for breakfast or as a delicious side dish at lunch or dinner.
- 3. Special Note: You can adjust the amount of artificial sweetener depending on the tartness of the apples used or your personal tastes.
