Venison Chili image

This is very healthy. The only red meat we eat is whatever my husband can harvest. And during hunting season, we have plenty of venison.

Time 45m

Number Of Ingredients 11

2 lb ground venison
1 yellow bell pepper
3 jalapeno peppers
1 big onion
2 pkg mccormick low sodium chili seasoning
1 can(s) black beans (reg. size)
1 can(s) great northern beans
1 can(s) light red kidney beans
1 can(s) diced tomatoes (big can)
1 can(s) tomato sauce (reg. can)
1 c water

Steps:

  • 1. Saute the bell pepper, onion and jalapeno peppers in canola oil or olive oil; add venison and cook until the meat is done, not pink. Pour all the beans in a colander and wash them, and dump them in the pot - Then add everything else and let it cook covered about 30 minutes on low; then take the top off and let it simmer for about 15 minutes to thicken up.
  • 2. I served this over brown rice.
