From the Twinkies Cookbook, submitted originally by Lori Kimble. I like to add some chopped nuts to the pudding layer. Cooking time is refrigeration time.

10 Hostess Twinkies
1 (3 1/2 ounce) package vanilla instant pudding mix
2 cups milk
1/2 cup finely chopped pecans (optional)
1 (8 ounce) container frozen non-dairy topping, thawed
1 (16 ounce) container chocolate frosting

Steps:

  • Cut Twinkies in half lengthwise; arrange half of them cut side up in an 8x8 baking dish.
  • Combine pudding mix and milk and stir according to the package instructions. Fold in the whipped topping and nuts (if using). Arrange remaining Twinkies cut side down over the pudding.
  • Remove the lid and foil seal from the frosting container and microwave on high for 1 minute. Stir well, then drizzle over the Twinkies. Refrigerate for 1 hour, or until firm.
