2 slices cheddar cheese
2 slices sourdough bread or 2 slices challah
1 (6 1/2 ounce) can tuna, drained and flaked
1/4 cup finely chopped celery
1/4 cup finely chopped onion
1/4 cup mayonnaise
1/4 cup milk
1 egg, beaten
2 tablespoons butter

Steps:

  • Combine tuna, celery, onions, and mayonnaise.
  • Place 1 slice cheese on one bread slice. Spread tuna salad evenly over the slice of cheese. Top with remaining slice of cheese and bread slice.
  • Combine milk and egg in shallow bowl; stir until well blended. Dip sandwiches in egg mixture, turning to coat well.
  • Melt butter in large nonstick skillet over medium heat. Add sandwiches; cook 4 to 5 minutes per side or until cheese melts and sandwiches are golden brown.
