TRADITIONAL THANKSGIVING STUFFING image

Number Of Ingredients 11

3/4-1 lb. pork sausage
2 c. celery, chopped
1/2 c. onion, chopped
1 box seasoned stuffing (9-10oz)
1 4 oz. mushroom pieces-optional, save the liquid
3/4-1/2 c. raisins (soak in hot water for 15 minutes to plump)
10-15 prunes, chopped
1/3-1/2 c. margarine
2 chicken bouillion cubes with 2 c. water or chicken broth
1/2 tsp. each of thyme, rosemary and sage
salt and pepper to taste

Steps:

  • Cook celery in the chicken broth with the onions for 10 minutes. Add the margarine. Drain and save the liquid. Add the celery and onions to the stuffing mix and add the mushrooms, raisins and prunes. Mix all together and add reserved broth to the mixture to moisten. Add salt, pepper, thyme, rosemary and sage. Stuff turkey with dressing or bake in covered pan at 350 for 45 minutes.
