TRADITIONAL SAUSAGE STUFFING image

Number Of Ingredients 10

1 pound bulk pork sausage
Turkey liver ground fine
1 stick butter
12 medium onions
12-16 stalks of celery
~32 slices dried white bread
4 eggs, slightly beaten
2-3 Tablespoons Poultry seasoning or fresh parsley and sage to taste
Salt & Pepper
~1 Qt chicken broth

Steps:

  • Melt butter in large skillet. Cook onions and turkey liver about 10 minutes, then add celery and cook another 10 minutes. Cool. In the meantime, cut crust from 2 loaves of home made white bread. Cut the rest into small cubes and dry in the oven. Mix all ingredients together and check moisture (should be quite juicy). Add more chicken stock, if needed (or a little heavy cream). Bake at 350 degrees F in buttered loaf pans until brown and crusty. The crust is the best part. Enjoy!
