Tortillas image

My husband showed me how to make these. His mother showed him. You should have a cast iron flat pan, Its so easy to make these, if you do it enough time you can almost make them blind folded. One of my sister in laws still make hers with the lard, but the other one makes hers with the Bisquick, much more healthier I would say.

Number Of Ingredients 4

1 cup(s) bisquick
1 cup(s) flour
1 teaspoon(s) salt
3/4 cup(s) warm water

Steps:

  • In a medium bowl mix both flours and salt well. I use a little more salt as my family likes them that way, taste your dough to see if you have too much or not enough.
  • Now add the water, I mix with clean hands, the dough if done right shouldn't be sticky, I don't use flour when rolling into balls.
  • make six small ball out the dough and let them sit for about ten minutes then I roll with a reg. rolling pin, my in laws use the smallest rolling pin, its really the end of a broom stick that have been sanded clean.
  • cook on a flat cast iron pan on med high heat, let it bubble a little then turn over, cook other side then take and place the tortillas in a towel if you don't have a keeper for them.
