'thunder' cake Recipe - (4/5) image

Number Of Ingredients 10

( cream together one at a time)
1 cup shortening
1 tsp. vanilla
3 eggs (separated)( blend yolk's in ,beat whites until stiff & fold in )
1 cup cold water
1/3 cup pureed tomatoes stiff together
2 1/2 cups cake flour
1/2 cup dry cocoa
1 & 1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp salt

Steps:

  • mix dry mixture into creamy mixture.bake in a greased and floured 8 and 1/2 inch round pans at 350 F for 35-40 minutes.frost with chocolate butter frosting.top with strawberries.
