Three Step Salad image

This is my Dressed up version of salad. Simple and delish.

Number Of Ingredients 13

1/2 cup(s) sliced almonds
3 tablespoon(s) sugar
6 cup(s) torn romaine lettuce
1 can(s) (11 ounces) mandarin oranges, drained
1 cup(s) sliced celery
3 - green onions, sliced
DRESSING:
1/2 cup(s) vegetable oil
1/4 cup(s) vinegar
2 to 3 teaspoon(s) sugar (or to your taste)
1/2 teaspoon(s) salt
1/2 teaspoon(s) ground mustard
1/4 teaspoon(s) garlic powder

Steps:

  • In a small saucepan over medium heat, cook and stir almonds and sugar until almonds are coated and lightly browned, about 4 minutes. Spread the almonds on heavy-duty foil to cool; gently break apart.
  • In a large salad bowl, combine romaine, oranges, celery and onions. Top with almonds.
  • In a jar with tight-fitting lid, combine the dressing ingredients; shake well. Pour over the salad and toss gently. Serve and enjoy.
