Teriyaki Steak Skewers image

This recipe is great on it's own, or is also part of my Teriyaki Beef Yakisoba recipe.

Number Of Ingredients 8

2 new york strip filets
8 kabob skewers
1/4 c water
1 Tbsp cornstarch
1/4 c brown sugar
1/4 c soy sauce
2 clove garlic, minced
1 tsp ginger powder

Steps:

  • 1. Slice steak in long pieces, about 1/4 inch thick. Set aside.
  • 2. In sauce pan, heat water, cornstarch, brown sugar and soy sauce until sugar is dissolved, stirring constantly. Add garlic and ginger, stir well. Remove from heat and let cool.
  • 3. Marinade the steak in the sauce for at least 30 minutes. Poke skewers through the steak pieces and place on a plate. Set extra sauce aside (if any).
  • 4. Grill the skewers over medium-low heat, brushing with extra sauce while cooking. Grill both sides for approximately 2-3 minutes each.
  • 5. Serve.
