Tender BBQ Tips Over Noodles / Crock Pot image

Another great crock pot meal...I found a great buy on stewing meat, so I stocked up on it...made this for my other half to take to work...Of course you can tell by the ingredients, that there is a sweetness to the sauce...my family loves it...

Number Of Ingredients 15

1 lb beef stew meat
oil for browning
1/2 c onion, chopped
1/2 c green or red bell pepper, chopped
2 clove garlic, minced - optional
2 c water, divided
2/3 c ketchup
2 Tbsp brown sugar
2 Tbsp worcestershire sauce
1 tsp paprika
1/2 tsp ground mustard
6 Tbsp flour
1 1/2 Tbsp browning sauce ( kitchen boquet or gravy master) optional
salt and pepper to taste
warm, cooked egg noodles for serving

Steps:

  • 1. In a medium sized skillet, brown beef, onion and peppers in oil; if using garlic, add it now, cook until fragrant; drain.
  • 2. Transfer to a 3 quart slow cooker.
  • 3. In a small bowl, combine 1 cup water, ketchup, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, paprika and mustard.
  • 4. Pour over meat. Cover and cook on low for 5 hours or until meat is tender.
  • 5. Combine the flour and remaining 1 cup water until smooth; stir into meat mixture. I stir in roughly 1 1/2 tablespoons of browning sauce for color.
  • 6. Cook 30 minutes longer or until thickened. Salt and pepper to taste.
  • 7. Meanwhile, cook noodles according to package directions; drain. Serve with beef.
