Yield 12 servings-2 pieces/person if using 24 drumsticks

Number Of Ingredients 9

4 to 5 pounds of chicken (wings or drumsticks work best)
1/3 cup teriyaki sauce
1/2 cup lite soy sauce
2 tablespoons minced or chopped garlic
1 tablespoon garlic powder
1 tablespoon onion powder
1/2 tablespoon ginger powder
1/2 tablespoon ground black pepper
1 cup of maple syrup

Steps:

  • Place chicken in a pyrex or glass dish that is oven-safe and marinate the chicken overnight with 1 tbs. garlic powder, 1 tbs. onion powder, and 1/2 tbs. ginger powder. Sprinkle over chicken. You may not need to use the whole mixture, depending on how much chicken you have. Use enough to cover the chicken, both front and back. Heat the oven to 350 degrees. Make the sauce by mixing all of the main ingredients together in a bowl. Mix well. Pour sauce over chicken and bake for 15 minutes. Turn chicken every 15 minutes for one hour (4 times). Then turn up the heat to 425 degrees and cook for an additional 45 min. turning the chicken every 12 to 15 min. Make sure to turn the chicken frequently enough, so it won't burn. Watch them because when the heat is at 425 degrees, they will burn on one side if you don't turn them over. Once they are done, you can either serve them right away, or let them sit in the oven on warm until you are ready. It is a really long process, but it well worth the wait!!
