Tangy Barbecue Sandwiches image

Number Of Ingredients 14

3 c chopped celery
1 c chopped onion
1 c ketchup
1 c barbecue sauce, prepared
1 c water
2 Tbsp vinegar
2 Tbsp worcestershire sauce
2 Tbsp brown sugar
1 tsp chili powder
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp pepper
1/2 tsp garlic powder
3-4 lb boneless chuck roast, trimmed
14-18 hamburger buns

Steps:

  • 1. In a slow cooker, combine the first 12 ingredients; mix well.
  • 2. Add roast.
  • 3. Cover and cook on high for 6-7 hours or until tender.
  • 4. Remove roast; cool.
  • 5. Shred meat and return to sauce; heat through.
  • 6. Use a slotted spoon to serve over split hamburger buns.
