Susan's Oatmeal Cookies for Diabetic Dogs image

Someone was looking for a recipe for their diabetic dog. I found this recipe, which I haven't tried, at: http://www.petdiabetes.com/recipes.html. The orig. recipe called for 1 cup of raisins. I omitted the them from the recipe because raisins can be very toxic to dogs.

Number Of Ingredients 7

3 cup(s) oatmeal uncooked
1 cup(s) cold filtered water
1 1/2 cup(s) whole-wheat flour
1 tablespoon(s) parlsley, chopped
2 - 2 egg yolks
1 teaspoon(s) baking soda
2 - cloves garlic, chopped

Steps:

  • 1. Mix all ingredients together.
  • 2. Spoon onto a greased cookie sheet. (I do not know about diabetes in dogs, so I don't know if greasing the cookie sheet is a good idea.)
  • 3. Bake 12-15 minutes at 350 degrees. Place on a cooling rack. Store in refrigerator for up to two months.
