Super Moist Banana Chocolate Chip Bread image

My family loves this recipe because it is so moist and I use NO OIL! You can substitute nuts in place of the chocolate chips or just leave them out.

Number Of Ingredients 12

1 1/2 C - all purpose flour
1/2 C - brown sugar
1/2 C - granulated sugar
1/4 t - nutmeg
1/4 t - cinnamon (ground)
1/2 t - salt
1 t - baking soda
1 t - vanilla extract
1 C - applesauce
4-6 medium bananas (ripe)
2 - eggs
1/4 C - chocolate chips

Steps:

  • In a large mixing bowl add: Vanilla, Applesauce, Bananas and Eggs & mix well with a spoon. DO NOT puree the bananas, just mash them either with a potato masher or fork until they are about 1/2 inch pieces or chunks. I DO NOT use an electric mixer with this recipe. For some reason, it comes out better mixing it by hand! :)
  • Add the dry ingredients in a separate bowl & mix until well blended. Then add to the bowl with the wet ingredients. Mix well.
  • Add Chocolate Chips until mixed thoroughly into dough.
  • Grease a bread pan (both bottom & sides of pan).
  • Add Banana Bread Dough to the bread pan & bake at 350 degrees for about an hour (60-75 minutes) depending on your oven.
  • Cool on cooling rack or oven burner for about an hour. Slice & enjoy.
