Growing up in Indiana everyone had their own version of sugar cream pie. My favorite is still from Mrs. Wicks. But my version is very good too! When I moved to New York I was surprised that no one knew what a sugar cream pie was!

Steps:
- 1. Preheat oven to 375°F. In a sauce pot whisk together the sugar and corn starch. Whisk in the half and half.
- 2. Cook over medium heat whisking nonstop until it is bubbling and thickened. Remove from heat.
- 3. Whisk in butter until melted and fully mixed in. Then stir in vanilla.
- 4. Pour in to prebaked pie crust. Sprinkle cinnamon and nutmeg evenly over top.
- 5. Bake in a preheated oven of 375° for 20 minutes. Remove from oven and cool to room temperature. Cover and place in fridge overnight. Enjoy!
