Steps:
- Cut off pepper tops; remove seeds & membranes. Chop edible parts of tops & set aside. Place peppers in a large pot & cover w/ salted water. Bring to a boil, reduce to simmer for 5 mins. Heat olive oil & butter in skillet until hot. Saute chopped green pepper (from tops), onion & celery for about 5 mins. Add tomatoes, tomato sauce, garlic, oregano, basil, 1 tsp. salt, and pepper. Simmer for 10 mins. Combine egg with 1 tsp. salt, 1/4 tsp. pepper, and Worcestershire sauce. Stir in cooked ground sirloin, cooked rice, and 1 cup of the tomato mixture. Mix well. Stuff peppers & place in 3 quart baking dish. Pour tomato mixture over peppers. Bake, covered, at 350 degreees for 55-65 mins. Top with cheese just before pepper are done. Serves 6.
