Time 2h

Number Of Ingredients 7

1 lb pork sausage with sage
1 lb ground beef
1/4 c minced onion or dried onion
3 c mozzarella cheese
2 pkg 2 loaves of unfrozen bread dough
1/4 Tbsp black pepper or to taste
1 jar(s) pizza sauce

Steps:

  • 1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees. brown sausage, ground beef and onion until fully cooked and crumbled in pan on stove top
  • 2. while meat is browning, roll out both bread dough loaves into one large rectangle about 12x15. move the dough onto a large cookie sheet with edges or jelly-roll pan. spread 1 cup of mozzarella cheese on dough, layer cooked meat and spread evenly. pepper to taste. add the 2 cups of mozarella cheese on top of meat layer and spread.
  • 3. roll the dough starting on the long side, keeping the ingredients fairly even and when you get to the end, pinch dough together to seal. Roll the spiral on pan to put the seam side down.
  • 4. bake in the 375 degree oven for 40 minutes until the outside crust is a deep golden brown. carefully remove from oven and drain off any accumulated grease. butter crust and let cool until it can be sliced. cut in approximately 1 inch slices (makes 12) and serve with pizza sauce on the side for dipping. excellant as a cold snack the next day if any is left!!!
