Yield 8-10 servings

Number Of Ingredients 12

1 (20 oz) package brownie mix
oil and eggs as called for on the package
1 (14 oz) can sweetened condensed milk
1/2 cup cold water
1 (3.4 oz) package instant vanilla pudding mix
1 1/2 cups cool whip
1 quart fresh strawberries, cleaned and hulled - half sliced, half halved
Glaze:
1/2 cup semisweet chocolate chips
2 Tbsp butter
2 Tbsp light corn syrup
1-2 tsp hot water

Steps:

  • 1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease two 9" round cake pans, line bottoms and sides with foil and grease the foil. 2. Prepare the brownie mix as directed on the package for cake-like brownies; pour into prepared pans. Bake 20-25 minutes, until toothpick comes out clean. Cool in pans; then remove brownie layers from pans and peel off foil. 3. In the large bowl of an electric mixer, combine the sweetened condensed milk and the cold water. Beat in the pudding mix and beat 1 minute at medium speed. Chill 20 minutes. 4. Fold whipped topping into pudding mixture; don't overmix. Place one brownie layer on serving plate. Top with half the filling, then the sliced strawberries. Top with the remaining brownie layer, then the filling, then the halved strawberries. 5. Prepare the glaze: In a double boiler, melt chocolate chips, butter and corn syrup until smooth. Cool slightly. Stir in water, 1 tsp at a time until consistency of thick syrup. 6. Drizzle glaze over torte. Refrigerate at least 1 hour and serve.
