I like these versatile bars because they're made from ingredients I almost always have on hand. Sometimes I substitute apricot or peach preserves for the strawberry.

- In a small bowl, combine flour and brown sugar; cut in butter until mixture is crumbly. Press into a greased 9-in. square baking pan. Bake at 350° for 15-20 minutes or until lightly browned., Spread preserves over crust. In a small bowl, combine the butter, flour, brown sugar, oats, cinnamon and extract; sprinkle over preserves. , Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown. Combine the confectioners' sugar, almond extract and enough milk to achieve desired consistency; drizzle over warm bars. Cool completely on a wire rack.
