Spicy Turkey Chili image

How to make Spicy Turkey Chili

Number Of Ingredients 12

1 tbsp. canola oil
1 large onion, diced
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 jalapeño, minced
1 tbsp. tomato paste
1 tbsp. chili powder
2 tsp. ground cumin
1 lb. ground turkey
1 15.5-ounce can black beans, drained and rinsed
1 28-ounce can crushed tomatoes
Scallions, for serving
Shredded cheddar, for serving

Steps:

  • In a large stockpot, heat oil over medium-high heat. Cook onion until tender and golden, 8 minutes. Add garlic and jalapeño and cook until fragrant, 2 minutes more. Add tomato paste, chili powder, and cumin and cook, stirring, 1 minute more.Add turkey and cook, stirring, until cooked through and golden, 5 to 7 minutes. Add black beans and canned tomatoes, stirring to combine, then add broth.Increase heat to a simmer and let cook, 25 minutes.Serve in bowls and garnish with scallions and cheddar.
