Spicy Pumpkin Nut Cake image

I created this cake recipe by tweaking other recipes.The first time I made it, I sent it along with my husband to our church board meeting on a cool Fall Georgia evening. He said that everyone enjoyed & bragged on it. Please know, this is NOT a very sweet cake. You may add 1/2 - 3/4 cup granulated sugar to the batter, if you prefer a sweeter cake.

Number Of Ingredients 10

1 box(es) butter flavored cake mix
1 box(es) pumpkin spice or vanilla pudding (4 oz.)
1/4 cup(s) vegetable oil
4 - eggs
1 can(s) pumpkin (15 oz.)
1/4 cup(s) water or milk
1 teaspoon(s) allspice, ground
2 teaspoon(s) cinnamon, ground, (may substitute equal amts. pumpkin pie spice for allspice & cinnamon
3/4 cup(s) pecans, chopped
- powdered sugar

Steps:

  • Mix & beat all ingredients together (except for powdered sugar.)
  • Pour into a greased or sprayed Bundt pan.
  • Bake at 350 for 55 minutes.
  • Cool in pan 15 minutes before removing onto cake plate.
  • Sprinkle desired amount of powdered sugar over cooled cake.
