This Spiced Turkish coffee recipe varies from tradition with an assortment of warming spices but isn't totally uncommon in Turkey. Especially enjoyed by the younger 20 something set. Often enjoyed with a piece of Turkish Delight.

Steps:
- In an 8 oz Ibrik, combine the water, spices and vanilla extract. Stir.
- Add the sugar and coffee. Do not stir.
- Bring the liquid to a near-boil over medium heat.
- When the foam rises into the neck of the ibrik, remove it from heat. Watch it closely and do not allow it to boil. Allow the foam to settle.
- Return the pot to the stove and repeat several times, until the foam is thick. Distribute the foam evenly among your demitasse cups.
- Allow the coffee grounds to settle in the ibrik for about a minute. Pour the coffee into the cups, taking care to leave the grounds, spices and sludge in the pot.
- Serve immediately.
