Spiced Slow Cooker Apple Oatmeal image

This spiced apple oatmeal makes for an easy, warm, and cozy breakfast.

½ cup packed brown sugar
2 tablespoons lemon juice
2 tablespoons molasses
3 teaspoons ground cinnamon
1 teaspoon ground nutmeg
½ teaspoon ground ginger
½ teaspoon ground allspice
¼ teaspoon salt
1 serving cooking spray
2 each apples - peeled, cored and chopped
2 cups steel-cut oats
2 large eggs
2 ½ cups water
2 cups 2% milk
1 cup heavy cream

Steps:

  • Combine brown sugar, lemon juice, molasses, cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, allspice, and salt in a bowl.
  • Spray a 4-quart slow cooker with cooking spray and spread out apples on the bottom of the slow cooker. Top with brown sugar mixture, then with oats.
  • Whisk together eggs, water, milk, and cream. Pour over oats. Cover the slow cooker.
  • Cook on Low until oats are soft, 4 1/2 to 5 hours.
