Spiced Buttered Pineapple Syrup - Pancakes & more image

This delightful syrup can be use in a wide variety of ways, from pancakes to pork chops to ice cream. I also included the option of adding Dark Spiced Rum. Enjoy! I recommend to garnish with additional cubed fresh pineapple!

Number Of Ingredients 8

1 stick(s) butter
1 cup(s) dark brown sugar
1 tablespoon(s) dark molasses
1 tablespoon(s) vanilla
1 teaspoon(s) allspice
1 teaspoon(s) cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon(s) ginger
1/4-1/2 - fresh pineapple, cubed

Steps:

  • Place all the ingredients in a saucepan. Optionally add two tablespoons of dark spiced rum. Cook on high for 1 minute, then lower heat to low.
  • Stirring occasionally, cook for 10 minutes.
  • Pour into a bowl and puree with an immersion blender. Or, use a food processor or blender.
  • Return to saucepan and cook for an additional 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  • Serve warm.
