Spaghetti Sauce image

This recipe came from my grandmother. It has always been one of my favorite things she makes. It is a very delicious thick sauce and it freezes very well.

Yield 4-6 cups

Number Of Ingredients 12

1 1/2 lbs ground beef
1 large onion, chopped
1 clove garlic, diced
1 tablespoon butter or 1 tablespoon margarine
1 (28 ounce) can diced tomatoes, undrained
2 (6 ounce) cans tomato paste
1 (8 ounce) can tomato sauce
1 can sliced mushrooms, drained
2 tablespoons sugar
1 tablespoon paprika
1 teaspoon salt
3 bay leaves

Steps:

  • Brown ground beef in a large sauce pan.
  • Drain off fat.
  • Saute onion and garlic in butter until soft.
  • Add in drained ground beef and remaining ingredients.
  • Simmer on low until flavors blend.
  • Serve over noodles.
