Spaghetti Casserole image

YUMMY!!! Lasagna flavor with less fuss and cash! Make the entire recipe and cut leftovers into squares and it freezes great for a wonderful lunch at work or a quick dinner another night!

Number Of Ingredients 9

1 lb box of spaghetti
2 Tbsp olive oil
8 oz cream cheese
8 oz sour cream
8 oz cottage cheese
1- 24oz. jar(s) prego pasta sauce or your own homemade
1 lb lean ground beef
1/4 c onion, chopped
3 Tbsp butter, melted

Steps:

  • 1. Brown ground beef with onions, add jar of sauce. Cover and simmer 15 minutes.
  • 2. Cook spaghetti al dente in water and olive oil according to package directions. Drain. Set aside.
  • 3. Cream together cream cheese, cottage cheese and sour cream (I use a hand mixer). Set aside.
  • 4. Grease a 9 x 13 pan. Add 1/2 of the cooked spaghetti. Spread on 1/2 of cheese mixture with spatula.Repeat with other half of spaghetti and cheese mixture.
  • 5. Pour melted butter over layers.
  • 6. Pour spaghetti sauce over the top.
  • 7. Cover with foil and bake for 45 minutes.
  • 8. Uncover. Cool for 15 minuts and cut into squares and serve.
