Sour Cream or Whipping Cream Cake image

This is a recipe from my next door neighbor - Mrs. Hearn. NOTICE: DO NOT preheat the oven in this recipe because the 10-inch pan has to be placed into cold oven.

Number Of Ingredients 6

3 c sugar
2 stick butter
6 eggs
3 c cake flour
2 tsp vanilla
1 carton whipping cream or sour cream

Steps:

  • 1. Cream sugar and butter.
  • 2. Add eggs, one at a time.
  • 3. Add flour a little at a time, beating well.
  • 4. Add vanilla.
  • 5. Turn mixer on low speed and add whipping cream or sour cream.
  • 6. NOTE: Be careful not to beat; just blend.
  • 7. Pour into a greased and floured 10-inch pan.
  • 8. Place in a cold oven.
  • 9. Heat oven to 300 degrees F.
  • 10. Bake for 1 hour and 30 minutes.
