Sour Cream Nut Rolls image

Delicious cookies filled with nutty almond filling.

Number Of Ingredients 10

2 c flour
1 c butter, softened
1/2 c sour cream
2 egg yolks
FILLING:
2-1/2 c ground almonds
1/2 c sugar
1/4 c milk
1 tsp almond extract
powdered sugar

Steps:

  • 1. Put flour and butter in large bowl. Cut in butter until crumbly.
  • 2. Mix sour cream and egg yolks together with a fork to blend. Add to flour mixture. Stir and knead to form ball. Roll out 1/8 inch thick on lightly floured surface. Cut into 2 inch squares.
  • 3. FILLING: Mix almonds, sugar, milk and almond extract together. Place 1/2 tsp. in center of each square.
  • 4. Bring up 2 opposite corners. Lay 1 corner over the other, pinching to seal.
  • 5. Bake at 400 degrees for 10 to 12 minutes. Roll in powdered sugar.
