Slow-Cooker Spicy Chili image

Try this hearty satisfying slow cooker chili. To save you time in the kitchen, use 3 cups thawed Make-Ahead Seasoned Ground Beef and Sausage in place of the ground beef, sausage and onion.

1 lb lean (at least 80%) ground beef
1/2 lb bulk Italian pork sausage
1 medium onion, chopped (1/2 cup)
1 can (28 oz) whole tomatoes, undrained, cut up
1 can (15 oz) tomato sauce
2 teaspoons chili powder
1 to 1 1/2 teaspoons ground cumin
1 teaspoon sugar
1 teaspoon dried oregano leaves
1 can (15 oz) spicy chili beans, undrained
1 can (15 oz) Progresso™ chickpeas (garbanzo beans), drained, rinsed
Sour cream, if desired
Sliced green onions, if desired

Steps:

  • In 10-inch skillet, cook beef, sausage and onion over medium-high heat 5 to 7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until beef and sausage are thoroughly cooked; drain.
  • Spray 3- to 4-quart slow cooker with cooking spray. In cooker, mix beef mixture and remaining ingredients except sour cream and green onions.
  • Cover; cook on Low heat setting 7 to 8 hours. Top individual servings with sour cream and green onions.
