Slow Cooker Sausage Casserole - Without Browning image

Sausage Casserole in the Slow Cooker, with no need to brown the sausages first! Recipe found as a suggestion on a forum.

Number Of Ingredients 8

2 large onions (or green parts of Shallots)
4 large carrots
800 g chopped tomatoes (2 x 400g can)
2 cups stock (vegetable or beef)
14 sausages (beef or vegetarian)
1 pinch salt
1 cup long grain rice (optional)
1 cup water (optional)

Steps:

  • Place vegetables in the slow cooker.
  • Pour over the stock.
  • Lay sausages on top, and push down to submerge.
  • Automatic setting for 8 hours.
  • Optional: 1 hour before serving, stir in rice and water. Ensure you don't over fill your pot.
