Slow-Cooker Barbecue Sauce image

Whip up your very own homemade barbecue sauce in your slow cooker. Can you believe it only takes 15 minutes prep time?

4 cups ketchup
1 medium onion, finely chopped (1/2 cup)
1/4 cup packed brown sugar
1 tablespoon celery salt
1 tablespoon ground mustard
1/2 cup water
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
2 tablespoons molasses
1 tablespoon cider vinegar
4 teaspoons paprika
1/2 teaspoon pepper

Steps:

  • Spray 3- to 4-quart slow cooker with cooking spray. Place all ingredients in cooker.
  • Cover; cook on Low heat setting 6 to 8 hours.
  • With wire whisk, vigorously beat sauce before serving. Sauce will hold on Low heat setting up to 2 hours; stir occasionally. Store covered in refrigerator up to 2 weeks.
