Side Essentials: Spicy Rice Dish image

Pulled this together, just for a different rice dish. It definitely has a kick to it, but not overly so. The Sriracha and hot sauce give it some heat, and the lemon pepper spice add a bit of tang. So, you ready... Let's get into the kitchen.

PLAN/PURCHASE
1 tablespoon(s) sweet butter, unsalted
1 cup(s) white rice
1 1/2 cup(s) chicken stock, hot
1 tablespoon(s) sriracha sauce
1 tablespoon(s) hot sauce, i prefer frank's
1 - 2 teaspoon(s) lemon pepper spice

Steps:

  • PREP/PREPARE
  • You will need a medium saucepan with a lid to make this recipe
  • To make this a meal in a bowl, add some ground beef, pork, or chicken; even fish works great. In my photo I added some ground beef... Yummy.
  • Gather your ingredients (mise en place).
  • Add the butter to a saucepan over medium heat, allow to melt, then add the rice, and stir until translucent, about 3 - 4 minutes. Add the hot chicken stock, and the remainder of the ingredients, and stir to combine.
  • Reduce the heat to medium-low, cover, and allow to simmer until all the liquid has been absorbed, about 18 - 20 minutes.
  • PLATE/PRESENT
  • Stir in some ground beef, pork, chicken, or shredded fish and serve as a meal in a bowl. Or leave as is and serve as a side. Enjoy.
  • Keep the faith, and keep cooking.
