SAUSAGE CORNBREAD DRESSING/JD image

Number Of Ingredients 9

-2 TBS butter
-2 cups yellow onion
-8 oz fresh mushrooms, sliced
1 lb package of Jimmy Dean or Bob Evans Sausage, cooked, crumbled and drained
-1 tsp salt & 3/4 tsp black pepper
-2 cups stock
-16 oz package (Pepperidge Farm) Cornbread stuffing
2 tsp fresh thyme chopped
-2 TBS fresh sage, chopped

Steps:

  • -Melt butter in pot and saute onions and mushrooms until soft (~5 min) -Add cooked sausage -Add stock and bring to a simmer -Add Cornbread -Stir in herbs and seasonings -Once cornbread is hydrated throughout, stuff into turkey cavities -Use meat thermometer, stuffing and "safe" at 165 degrees F (If baking outside of turkey, place in baking dish and bake @ 350 for 20-30 mins.
