Salsbury Steak image

My daughter LOVES frozen salsbury steaks, so I decided to make my own & I'm happy to say now if she gets a frozen one she says it's not as good as mommy's.

Number Of Ingredients 13

FOR BEEF
1 pound(s) ground beef
1/2 cup(s) saltine cracker crumbs
1/2 can - golden mushroom soup,
1 - envelope onion soup mix
1 - egg beaten
FOR GRAVY
1/2 can(s) water
1 jar(s) savory beef gravy
1/2 can - golden mushroom soup, (rest of can from patties)
1-8 oz can(s) mushrooms
2 dash(es) worcestershire sauce
1/4 teaspoon(s) pepper

Steps:

  • Combine ingredients for patties in bowl. Mix well and form into 4 good size oval patties. Brown patties on both sides. Don't cook all the way through as they will continue to cook in the gravy.
  • Combine the gravy ingredients in a bowl and pour over patties. Gently lift the patties to let some of the gravy get under the patties. Cover and reduce heat to med/low and let simmer in gravy for 20-30 minutes.
  • Serve with Mashed potatoes & veggie of choice.
