6 doves, feathered and dressed
bacon drippings or butter
1/4 cup carrot, diced
1/4 cup celery, diced
1/4 cup onion, diced
1 (10 1/2-ounce) package cream of mushroom soup

Steps:

  • Roll the doves in flour. Brown in the bottom of a hot, 12" Dutch oven in bacon grease. Add carrots, celery, and onions. Stir and brown for about 1 minute. Add soup, cover and bake 30 minutes or until tender. Serve with wild rice. Serves 4 to 6
