Rhubarb Dumpcake image

This is a creamy pudding like dessert that is good with whipping cream, a little heavy cream or icecream. I made some changes to my grandma's Rhubarb Torte recipe and didn't really think torte fit the recipe so changed it to a dumpcake.

Number Of Ingredients 10

4 cup(s) fresh rhubarb, washed and cut up
1 cup(s) sugar
1 1/2 cup(s) water, minus 1 teaspoon
1 teaspoon(s) vanilla
1 package(s) (3oz) strawberry jello
1 package(s) yellow cake mix
1 stick(s) butter, cut in small pieces
1 tablespoon(s) sugar
1 teaspoon(s) cinnamon
1 pinch(es) nutmeg

Steps:

  • In a bowl combine rhubarb, sugar, water, and vanilla.
  • Sprinkle jello over this
  • Put mixture in the bottom of a 9x13 inch pan.
  • Sprinkle cake Mix on top of fruit mixture.
  • Scatter butter pieces over cake mix.
  • Sprinkle with mixture of sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
  • Bake at 350 degrees for 45-60 minutes.
