Red String Beans image

This recipe has been a childhood favorite of mine, and now I make it every time I want to spice up my side dish!

Number Of Ingredients 9

2 tablespoons olive oil
1 onion, chopped
3 cloves garlic, chopped
2 (15.5 ounce) cans French cut green beans, drained
1 (6 ounce) can tomato paste
ΒΌ cup water
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon ground black pepper
1 tablespoon ground cumin

Steps:

  • Heat the oil in a large saucepan over medium heat. Add onions, and cook for a few minutes. When the onions are soft, add the garlic, and cook until fragrant. Mix in the green beans; cook and stir for two minutes. Stir in the tomato paste and water, then season with salt, pepper and cumin. Simmer for 5 more minutes over low heat before serving.
