Ready-To-Serve Hummingbird Food image

I like making small batches of hummingbird food so I stay in the habit of cleaning the feeder regularly...but this recipe easily doubles or triples and the extra can be stored in the refrigerator.

Time 3m

Yield 3/4 cup, 1 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 3

1 1/2 tablespoons white sugar
boiling water
ice cube

Steps:

  • Add the sugar to a measuring cup.
  • Add enough boiling water to come up to the 1/2 cup mark. Stir well until the sugar is completely dissolved.
  • Add ice cubes to raise the level of the water to 3/4 cup. Stir until the ice is melted and the hummingbird food is at the proper temperature to serve immediately!
